Yoga of Sound Nature Retreat
Located at Ballyhooly Lodge, Co.Cork. A building steeped in history just 29kms north of Cork City, at the foot of the picturesque Nagle Mountain range.

Accommodation
We don’t rent out our accommodation, it’s here for the use of family & friends. Our accommodation is also available for those attending training courses of 1-day or more in duration. All we ask is a small donation towards electricity.
Our accomodation is self-catering. For those who can bring their own sleeping bag, pillow and towel, we have a fully renovated and separate guest house with separate rear entrance. There are 5 bedrooms, a kitchen and living room with WIFI (but no television). This means you can stay on site at no extra cost if you wish, but you do have to be quick to book your room. If all rooms are booked out, there is plenty of parking in the large back yard carpark for campervans or there is a good selection of Hotel or BnB ccommodation nearby in Fermoy (11 minutes drive east) or. Mallow (22 minutes drive west) and surrounding areas of North Co.Cork.
Each bedroom has it’s own private bathroom and you will not be required to share a room. You can either bring your own bed linen/sleeping bag and towels, or we can provide clean bed linen and towels at the cost of €50 per stay.
- Mandala Room – This is our largest upstairs room and is north-facing with 1 x Double and 1 x single beds and glorious views of Ballyhooly Castle and the River Blackwater, just across the road. Along with a private ensuite bathroom with toilet, wash basin and electric pump shower for endless hot water.
- Lavender Room – This upstairs room is also north-facing, with 1 x Double bed and glorious views of Ballyhooly Castle and the River Blackwater, just across the road. Along with a private ensuite bathroom with toilet, wash basin and electric pump shower for endless hot water.
- Mountain Room -This south facing upstairs room has 1 x Double bed and plenty of morning sunlight along with a private ensuite bathroom with toilet, wash basin and electric pump shower for endless hot water.
- The Little Room – This north-facing upstairs room is our smallest with 1 x Single bed, but due to it’s unusual L-shape it also has a lot of character and charm, also with glorious views of of Ballyhooly Castle and the River Blackwater just across the road. A shared bathroom with a bath is right next door to this room. Due to the nature of the access via a short private balcony-style hall just a few feet from the bedroom door, although separate from the bedroom, it’s not convenient for other people to use this bathroom.
- Earth Room – This ground-floor north-facing room has a double Sofa-bed along with glorious views of Ballyhooly Castle. Just across the hall is the ground floor bathroom. The ground floor bathroom doesn’t have a shower, so the occupier of the Earth Room will be required to share an upstairs bathroom in order to shower.
Kangen Water
We have an endless supply of healthy filtered & electrolysed Kangen water to fill your water bottle.
Food & Supplies
In order to avoid dietary complications, the accommodation is self-catering. This means bring your own food which you can prepare in the fully equipped kitchen.
Our closest food store is at the fuel station and located just 750 metres away in the village of Ballyhooly. This is a small supermarket with fresh bread, milk, tea and coffee and a limited range of groceries. This is a picturesque 15-minute walk over “Castle View”, the road with a bridge over the River Blackwater.
If you prefer to enjoy a greater choice of food and supplies, we can drive you to pickup supplies if you need. A larger Supermarket is located at the Spar Castletownroche, an 8 minute drive where you’ll also find a post office and a takeaway chinese restaurant and other amenities.
Much larger supermarkets are located in Fermoy (11 minutes drive) and we make a shopping trip to Fermoy once a week. Where you will find Aldi, Lidl, Centra and other larger supermarkets and many shops on the main street.
Candles Policy
Candles are not permitted in the bedrooms or anywhere upstairs. Candles in the ground floor living area must be inside a fully-enclosed candle lantern and must not be left unsupervised.
Electricity Fair Usage Policy
Our accommodation has a fair usage policy for use of electricity, which applies to room heating in the colder months.
We can provide you with an electric column heater for your room for a donation amount of your own choosing towards the cost of electricity.
We ask that you don’t ever leave the heater turned on while you are not in the room.
